Craft Show!

Craft Show Set up

This is my set up for tomorrows craft show. I thought I didn't have enough stuff but when I put it all out, I think I have plenty. My daughter's 2nd grade friend thinks I should have made more things with monkeys, but she assures me that she'd spend a lot if she didn't have to keep her money in the bank ;-)

The sun already set around here, so these detail pics are blurry. I sometimes forget to photograph things before I sell them or give them as gifts and then I forget how I made them. Anyone else do that?

I have a bunch more pouch designs. These are the ones I haven't shared yet.
They have a simple velcro closure and measure about 6 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches with a 1 1/4 inch square gusseted bottom and a velcro closure.

I also have embroidered hairclips, crochet flowers, Cotton crochet pots, and a few felt envelopes.

Wish me luck! (Edit: The show was tonight and my disc barrettes were my best sellers. I got great feedback. It was a really cold forbidding day weatherwise so it was kind of slow with customers.)

I do have an Etsy shop. You can email me there if you are interested in my work, but aren't local to suburban Chicago. Look for the little "Contact IamSusie" on the side of the shop page under "IamSusie's info". I ship worldwide!

Do you need me to tell you to vote today? I didn't think so. Husband and I are all set to cancel each other out at the polls!

Edited to add: There were no lines at our polling place although they were processing a steady stream of people. Husband and I did agree on several local election questions and candidates. It took us less than 5 minutes to vote. I'm going to see if I can get that promised free coffee at Starbucks and the free ice cream at Ben and Jerry's although I'm also informed that this can be considered "buying votes" and may be a violation of federal law...

Pouches!

I haven't been very good lately about sharing my projects. I've been in pouch production for awhile now. I have a show coming up in December and another big custom order that came in so I'm sort of swimming in these things.

American Road Trip. Now that gas prices are down again, we might allstart taking the road trips we put off. This one brings back memories of our stuffed car trips up to Minnesota for the holidays. We don't have to do that anymore, but it was fun in the days before we had the kids!

Here are some holiday and non-holiday treats:
Holiday Treat Pouches

Here are the treats I like to stitch. The cupcake is the easiest to cut out. Gingerbread man is really hard to cut because he needs to be symmetric. Hershey's Kiss cookies are a holiday tradition for us.

Finally, for today, I have these sock monkey pouches. The applique is from some great novelty fabric.

Put fray check on the outside of the fabric cut out to keep it from unraveling.

I've got more, but I'll share them tomorrow. All the pouches are interfaced for fabric stability. They have a velcro closure and measure about 7 inches by 5 1/2 inches. A few are listed in my Etsy Shop, including a Red Riding Hood and a Big Bad Wolf. I plan to list more, but most of the inventory will go into the show.

Cute Pouches

I've been fiddling away at this pile of pouches for a couple of weeks.

Here is a pic of their square gusset bottoms:

I did some Little Red Riding Hood on pink:

Little Red goes with these Wolves I put on blue fabric. Wolf is very interested in that picnic basket full of treats:

My felt appliques are all hand cut and hand stitched. I do use some fabric glue in places like the wolf eyes and nose.

Here I did some more simple sock monkey pouches. I love these fabrics. The Monkey medallion is hand appliqued with embroidery floss:

In order to list these at Etsy, I have to set up all my photo stuff and try to get perfect pictures at perfect angles with perfect lighting... Hopefully I'll get to that this weekend. I hope the sun comes out again here. I switched from hot weather to the mid-50s really fast. Usually some snow flies here by Halloween so I guess it's time!
