Yesterday in a post I shared with you how to make a pillow case dress/skirt.  Fabulous right, so many cute ways to wear it, and so inexpensive and easy to make.  Well in the pics I shared yesterday you may have spotted these pretty earrings.  I am so thrilled with how these turned out.  So cute and again easy.  All you need to do is be able to do a basic crochet chain that's it.

What you will need:

Yarn
Crochet Needle
Felt
Hot Glue
Earring Findings
Faux Pearl Beads
Scissors
Wire Cutters & Needle Nose Pliers

Earring Findings Pieces I used.

Crochet two chains the same length.  Roll them up like you were making a coiled snake.  Take a small piece of felt preferable a color similar to your yarn and put some hot glue down.  Place your earring binding down that you have already added two pearls to, on the hot glue and cover with your  rolled crochet yarn.  Trim off excess felt.  Decorate with another pearl if you like in center of crocheted flower.   That's it.

I’ve just listed another 12 unique pairs of button earrings in the shop. There are some lovely colours here too. Bright yellow, turquoise, red, purple as well as paler shades of pink, salmon and green.

All hand wired with sterling silver wire and attached to individually hand crafted sterling silver earwires.

Crafty jewelry: Recycling lace to make earrings

Dolce & Gabbana‘s Spring ’11 collection undoubtedly furthered our already fanatical obsession with lace. Honestly, how dreamy is the collection?! We thought we’d make good use of some vintage lace trim we had laying around and turn them into earrings similar to the ones we saw on the runway. And thanks to some tips from a DIY previously featured on Poppytalk, making lace earrings proved be a cinch!

 Crafty jewelry: Recycling lace to make earrings

You’ll need:
- lace trim or a lace doily
- Elmer’s multi-purpose glue
- a pair of ear wires
- a bowl or measuring cup
- a pair of pliers
- a pair of scissors

Mix equal parts glue to water in a bowl. Cut your shapes from your lace trim or doily, making sure both pieces are symmetrical. (Click images to enlarge)

Submerge the cut shapes into the glue mixture. Using the side of the bowl, squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible. Lay the pieces down on a flat non stick surface. After a few hours of drying, attach stiffened lace onto ear wires using pliers.

I haven’t stopped wearing mine since and can’t wait to make more. Hooray for lace!
