Paper craft for kids: DIY Cupcake Toppers

Paper craft for kids: DIY Cupcake Toppers
You may remember a few weeks back when I posted about Hazel’sSplash Bash themed party. I did a DIY project on the cupcake toppers so I thought I’d share how to go about doing them here.

Supplies:
• Circle cutter (I used the Olfa Rotary Circle Cutter)
• Scalloped Circle Cutter (I used the Fiskars Scalloped Circle Punch)
• Glue stick
• Glue gun
• 4 inch lollipop sticks (you can get these in the baking section at the craft store)
• Double sided patterned card stock or scrap booking paper
• Colorful Buttons
Steps:
1. Each topper will use three layers of paper…
• Cut circles for the front of the toppers (mine were scalloped circles with holes in the middle so the paper underneath showed through)
• Cut circles for the middle of the toppers
• Cut circles for the backs of the toppers
2. Take the circles for the middle of the toppers and with a hot glue gun attach the lollipop sticks to the back
3. Using a glue stick attach the back circles to the middle circles covering the lollipop sticks
4. Using a glue stick attach the scalloped circles to the front of the toppers
5. Using a glue gun finish the topper by attaching the colorful buttons or other embellishments
